Hidden tang knives are constructed with a full blade and a handle that is supported between the threaded tang end and the shoulder.
2010 OKCA Club Award Knife
1095 blade where I made into hidden tang frame handle but maintained the original profile. The blade was clay coated to show a hamon. The guard and frame handle are made from a very compressed "W" pattern. The scales are stabilized maple burl and the pins are stainless steel.
This is made from a mosaic billet of 1095, 1084 and
15N20. Has a stainless steel frame handle with stabilized Claro Walnut scales. Guard and pins are stainless steel. Blade is 6 3/8" tip to guard, width is 1 1/8", thickness is 5/32". Handle including guard is 4 5/8".
This knife has an ATS-34 blade heat treated, cryo
quenched and tempered to rc58. Blade is 1 1/8" wide by 8" long by 3/32" thick. handle is brown canvas micarta with stainless steel pins. Overall length is 13". Blade has a 400 grit machine finish.
